Mission which was given to Bobs was simple i.e to spread its copies all around the galaxy so that the knowledge which is hidden from humanity can be retrieved. Also, this was one way of keeping humanity alive in the galaxy. Bobs served their purpose well for more than a century during which they established colonies in the galaxy also every time they gather they exchange with each other the things which they have seen and learnt.

The main sentinel is still producing more and more copies of Bob so that this process will never end.
