All the Light We Cannot See

Two characters find something unique in their life as the war goes on in the background. The first who gets the introduction is Marie Laure who was not blind right from birth but something happened to her at the age of six because of which she became blind. Her father didn’t lose heart and he started training Marie in a way that she could survive in the world without her eyes. Her father was working in the Museum of Natural History in Paris, the man built a miniature of that museum at home so that he could train Marie how to move in that place with ease.

The training went very well but the Nazis soon invaded the city and Marie had to move away from the place with her father. They shifted to the house of a relative but they didn’t leave the museum empty-handed. Marie’s father took with him the most dangerous jewel that was there in the museum.

Though they thought that they were safe at Saint Malo it was not true at all. Zach Appelman after narrating the character of the girl comes to the second character named Werner who happens to be an orphan. The boy is awesome with technology as he can repair anything within no time. For this reason, Werner gets selected at Hitler’s academy established for the youth. Later the path of these two young characters collides and they think that they can help one another.

Anthony Doerr has created a few scenes which are fiction related but it is not of the kind which would give us the picture of novels like Turn Coat or The Law. There is more reality in this story, especially the scenes which are associated with the Nazis’ invasion.
