Khaled Hosseini has written stories about family, love, and faith in ourselves. These themes show that the author has tried to write about humanity and the human nature that is present in all of us. It was The Kite Runner that made Khaled famous in the world of literature and that book is still considered a legend in the literary circle.

Khaled writes in a pure way and it seems that he shares with us the true experiences of life because the stories look real and raw. Mariam and Laila are not from the same generation but it is a war that makes them join hands for their survival. They meet each other on the streets of Kabul and there is war all around them.

The relationship between them is like mother and daughter and they start caring about one another in the same way as well. Although the two women have no blood relation between them they establish a bond of love and they prepare to stand by each other no matter what the situation is.

And the Mountains Echoed will be found close to this book in stature if you like more from Khaled. These stories tell us about the situation people are facing in different parts of the world. Although there is fear and terror present all around it does not kill love and the zeal for survival. We can find humanity in people at the center of the war zone even.
