Age of madness brings news of war and chaos from all around. Leo Dan Brock the one-of-a-kind warrior of Angland is fighting hard battles and he is trying to make a name for himself. Also, the warrior is serving his land by protecting it and when he came to the battlefield he thought that he would get some help from the king but the help never came.

 The prince was charged with the duty to look into the matter but he never responded positively toward the matter. This is not the only issue that is causing unrest on the land. People from all over have started a riot against the government and there is so much hatred in the hearts of the people that they are not ready to pacify their emotions with money. Meanwhile, a competition between the old ways of magic and the use of technology is going on.

Although people of the land don’t give importance to magic anymore still it exists in their blood and they just cannot deny its existence. Joe Abercrombie writes about a lot of problems at the same time and this first book has not solved any issue completely. The Blade Itself and Before They Are Hanged are the books that will introduce the audience to a new series so if a person likes this series then he should go for another one. [A Little Hatred]

 This second series is also narrated by Steven Pacey like this book so not a lot of change would be felt in voice quality. After introducing so many characters it would be hard for the author to bring them on the same path but this is where skill counts.
