Stonecutter’s Shadow is a science fiction and fantasy novel. It is written by James Haddock. He is a phenomenal storyteller, especially of science fiction books. He has also written steampunk and fantasy novels. Among his best books, you will find Lord of the High Reaches as one of them. After that, you will also be amazed at his From Mist and Steam novel.

The audio narration of the book is done by Daniel Wisniewski. It was an awesome performance and you will enjoy the characters and story so much in this powerful voice acting.

A coup managed to throw the entire Farshores kingdom into turmoil. One of the first moves of the pretender was just to order the mercenaries for invading the Mage District. Another item on the agenda was to put all of the inhabitants including men, women, and kids to the sword. There was only one survivor there who was Horace Stonecutter. He was the youngest son of the renowned Stonecutter family. His gift of stone-cutting still had to manifest himself, despite being part of a renowned stone-cutting mage family.

Instead, he had great skills that he employed for the first time while playing the fun hide and seek game with the other children around. He was able to discover that he could hide inside the shadows and also about the other kids who gave him the nickname Hyder. It was because he was invincible or unable to be found by any other children once he hid himself. He kept all such stuff to himself as he was embarrassed to share that useless talent with his family. The plot twists are amazing and you wouldn’t see them coming. The narration was great and you will find yourself at the edge of your seat throughout this audiobook.
