Wish You Well

Wish You Well is a coming-of-age thriller and suspense novel. It is a book by David Baldacci who is considered one of the best in the genre. If you want to testify that then The 6:20 Man is the book for you. On top of that, he did an outstanding job with the writing of his Memory Man novel.

The audio narration of Wish You Well is done by Norma Lana and David Baldacci himself. Norma, the main narrator of the book has a very pleasant voice and exactly the type that this type of novel needed.

The novel is set in the year 1940 when a tragedy happened and it sent Lou and her younger brother Oz from NY to Southwest Virginia along with their invalid mother. They went there to live with their great-grandmother. This story is told with large doses of touching humor and heartbreaking elegance as the lives of those siblings changed for good.

The portraits of the land and as well as its people were described with extraordinary attention to detail. On top of that, the subject story flows well through the swells of innocence, injustice, faith, and the question of whether one could ever wish for having another well. The climatic courtroom battle shown here proved to be as unpredictable as it turned out to be relentless. This is something that would eventually decide the fates of the siblings and their mother, but also of those whom they had touched.

Wish You Well tells a wonderful story. Apart from its thrill, it also has an emotional angle and might make you cry as well.
