The pure irony is seen in most places of this book. Firstly the noteworthy thing is that Veritas is a vampire Law Guardian and instead of saving the vampires she is getting rid of them. Secretly she has been hunting down these creatures of the night for her personal goal. No one knows about the thing and that’s why she still has her job intact. Also if the vampires come to know about her hidden agenda they will get rid of her as soon as possible.
Luckily she has been surviving in both things and soon she would be able to fulfill her agenda. Killing or getting rid of the vampires is not the only thing that Veritas has in mind, she also has some concerns about Ian i.e a vampire who has lost his memories. It was in him that Veritas aroused the feelings of love and lust for the first time.
After a one-night stand, she never visited Ian because she thought that his presence could make her lose control of herself and she would never be able to complete her mission. Ian, on the other hand, is unable to recognize her completely because of his memory issues but still, he cannot forget that sensation that was provided to him in just one night.
Jeaniene Frost was just out of this world in Halfway to the Grave and One Foot in the Grave that’s why there were a lot of expectations for this book. This book has surpassed all the expectations of fans all around the globe. Tavia Gilbert starts casually but the end was handled with extreme care and precision.
