What Alice Forgot is a women’s fiction novel. It is written by the number one bestselling author, Liane Moriarty in the New York Times. Big Little Lies is the most prominent book by the author. Another book by the author that deserved to be mentioned here is Nine Perfect Strangers.
The audio narration of What Alice Forgot is done by Tamara Lovatt-Smith. The Australian narrator sounded British with her accent. However, it was a monotonous performance and you will hardly notice her voice changing between the different characters played in this story.
Alice Love was 29 years old and she was crazy for her husband. She was pregnant with her first child. So just imagine the surprise Alice when she came to the gym floor and was soon rushed to the hospital. She came to know there that her honeymoon was finally over and she was soon getting divorced. She had three kids and her actual age was 39.
Alice found herself in deep trouble and she had to reconstruct all the minor and major events of the last 10 years of her life. She had to know how she became such a super-skinny kind of mother who had such expensive clothes to wear. She also had to find out why her sister rarely talks with her. Ultimately, she had to figure out whether forgetting was a cure or a blessing for her.
This is a beautiful story of a woman who woke up one day with a prominent bump on her head and she had no knowledge about the last ten years of her life. This is more of a romantic comedy and at the same time, thought-provoking as well.
