Patrick Rothfuss, Jacqueline Carey, Shawn Speakman, Robert Jordan, and Terry Brooks have entertained the audience before in solo creations. On this occasion, all of these authors have worked together for the creation of this entertaining book. It is a combined performance that allows us to taste a variety of stories at the same time. The book was written for a noble purpose so all of the authors came up with their best creation which Peter Ganim, Jay Snyder, and Bronson Pinchot have narrated.
There are twenty three stories in the book and each of them is with an entirely changed theme. No repetition can be found here because the authors didn’t discuss their stories with one another and also they didn’t try to follow each other’s storyline. Terry Brooks’ story is the most interesting one in which the author talks about “Imaginary Friends”.
The story goes very quickly and there is no pause at any place. None of the authors has tried to overdo things, that’s why the length of the stories is not too much. No one consumes more time than the other thus everything remains in a nice balance at every stop. “Dogs” by Daniel Abraham is the other story that will catch every eye that is focusing on this book.
The narrators of this book have also narrated the Crooked Kingdom and Grain Brain so it is a very experienced team selected for the book. Short stories of good quality are hard to find in the world that is dominated by fictional novels now but this book serves the purpose very well. Short stories are excellently written and narrated till the last one.
