Everyone in today’s world knows Harry Dresden i.e Chicago’s only wizard and the man who has saved the world many times from the undead and other magical creatures. Human world does not need Harry’s services this time rather a man from the White Council is in need of serious help. The name of the man is Warden Morgan and he happens to be an old friend of Harry. Morgan has been charged with a case of treason which means that he has only a few days to live. After his arrest he would be exterminated at once according to the orders of the White Council. Harry also a member of the council cannot go against the orders and he cannot openly announce for the help of the man because in this way he too would land up in prison.

Of course Harry does not want all that but at the same time he does not believe on the charge resting on an old friend. Someone has trapped Warden Morgan but the question is that why someone has played such a trick on an innocent man. After hiding his friend in a proper hideout, Jim Butcher’s favorite character i.e Harry Dresden starts an investigation for the finding of truth. He has done it before but this time if he gets caught or the information against him leaks he will lose his reputation. Brace yourself to listen to another story like Storm Front and Peace Talks in James Marsters sweet voice. More thrill and suspense is there this time as compared to the usual magic that we witness in Dresden’s stories. There are times in the novel when Harry even starts thinking that perhaps he is backing the wrong man.
