Life of a thief is always complicated because in the dark world there is no way of coming out clean. Whether a criminal wants to do a job or not he is not given an option by the crime world. Sola Morte was once among the best thieves of the town, being a perfect cat burglar she made quite a name for herself in the field. Then one day she got tired of all this and left the dark underworld. However, leaving the crime world was not easy so she changed her appearance and got mixed in the general public.
Now when J.R. Ward starts the present-day story the listeners find the girl spending a relaxed life with her grandmother. Threats from her past life still are present out there somewhere but she is moving along well. One thing which she cannot forget is the man whom she loved i.e Assail. She does not keep any connection with Assail now because he has not left the crime world. Assail still works for the Black Dagger Brotherhood and has no plan of living the business.
There is one more thing of which Sola is unaware i.e Assail is a vampire. Assail has never told her that he is a vampire because this could have damaged their relation. One day Assail’s cousin comes to Sola and tells her that Assail is in a coma and there is a chance that he might not recover from it. Sola to save her love had to go back to the crime world and also she finds out that her love is actually a blood-sucking vampire.
Lover Unveiled and Lover Eternal, The Black Dagger Brotherhood, Book 2 didn’t provide that much anxiety to the lovers in the novel. In this story the two lovers are getting pinched from the inside because of the secrets which they are hiding. Jim Frangione has provided a whispering style to narration when the world of vampires appear on the scene, it is just superb to listen.
