The Swarm Audiobook
Aliens were coming to the earth and the people of the earth especially the scientists were aware of it. One thing which they were not aware of was the strength and the motives of the enemy. Some thought that that the aliens were coming with a friendly purpose in mind and their arrival will help mankind in the exploration purpose.
Others were with the view that humans are ahead of every living being in the universe when it comes to science and technology. The first ship of the aliens proved everyone wrong. It not only defeated but also eradicated the human forces which tried to stop it. One thing became clear i.e the aliens are not in a friendly mood.
The ship which destroyed almost whole of China was just a scout ship which was sent to pave the way for the mother ship which is also approaching the planet at a rapid pace. Orson Scott Card and Aaron Johnston here change the game and it is not like Ender’s Game and Speaker for the Dead where the humans were facing just one enemy. Humans in this novel realize that their weapons are not enough for the monster that is coming to them so they plan to design an even bigger one.
Groups are formed and all the nations of the world join forces for this single purpose. Threat increases when several of the people among the human race decide to betray their own specie. It becomes tough for the heroes to fight two battles at the same time. Vikas Adam, Paul Boehmer, Stephen Hoye and Stefan Rudnicki at this spot in the story narrate just wonderfully well for the audience.
