The Space Between Worlds is a science fiction and fantasy novel. It is written by Micaiah Johnson. He is a superb American author of stunning science fiction novels. Among his best work, you Erde 0 as one of them.
The Space Between Worlds is narrated by Nicole Lewis. The narration was just around average. The real issue was with the approach of narration for defining the personality of the character. That didn’t work at all as the characters in Nicole’s voice sounded a lot immature. It was more like a Young Adult novel experience, which this book is not.
The Multiverse travel finally became a reality. But, there was one catch there: Nobody was allowed to tour a world where the counterpart in that region was still alive.
Then came Cara to the scene who parallels were known to be quite brilliant at dying through disease and turf wars. Another cause for dying was the different types of vendettas which they couldn’t manage to outrun at all. The life of Cara all of a sudden got short with 372 worlds in total.
On this planet, Cara managed to survive. She was identified as some outlier. For this reason, she was an ideal candidate for multiverse travel. She was plucked through the dirt coming from the wastelands. The thing that made her marginalized once had eventually become an unpredicted source of power. She had a very beautiful apartment in Wiley City. She was then busy in work and flirting with Dell, her aloof handler.
The pacing of the novel is very good which will keep you interested in the story throughout. The narration was not that good as the narrator had an incompatible voice with the characters.
