The Sixth Man is a mystery, thriller & suspense novel. It is the fifth installment in King and Maxwell novel series which is beautifully written by David Baldacci. The author has been the favorite of many mystery lovers out there. This is all thanks to his outstanding novels, such as The Collectors and The Camel Club, etc. The audio narration of The Sixth Man novel is done by Ron McLarty and Orlagh Cassidy. The female narrator this time executed her part and that was a major distraction for the listeners.
The story of this novel started with the character of Edgar Roy. He was an alleged notorious serial killer. He was kept in a secure Federal Supermax facility and e was awaiting his trial. He was certain about conviction. Michelle Maxwell and Sean King were called in by the attorney of Edgar Roy. His name was Ted Bergin he was also Sean’s mentor and an old friend. But their investigation got derailed before it even started, after having their first meeting with Begin. Ted got killed.
It was all upon Sean and Michelle to ask all of those questions that nobody want to answer. Was Edgar Roy a killer? Who murdered Ted? With some help coming from a few surprising allies, Sean and Michelle continued with their investigation. But, the more they tried to dig into the past life of Roy, the more obstacles, dead-ends, half-truths, escalating threats, and false friends they found.
The story of The Sixth Man is superb and something that you can attribute to the class of David Baldacci as a mystery author. The narration by a female performer was a major let-down.
