The Silent Sister Audiobook
Story of this novel begins in the present and then it moves backward to the past. At the start of the novel the audience meets Riley who is the only daughter of her father. She was not the only daughter since the beginning because there was a time when she used to have an older sister as well.
Lisa was the name of Riley’s older sister but Riley never met her sister because she committed suicide before Riley was old enough to remember things. Riley’s father never told her that why her older sister committed suicide and she too never asked her father about the thing because she thought that it would make her father sad and grieved.
At the death of her father, Riley was given a chance to come to her family home once again for the funeral. Later Riley started cleaning the house and she got the hint that her sister was still alive and she was actually using a different identity now. Riley gets alarmed and she thinks that she has to know why her sister was forced to change her identity and why her father never told everything to her.
Diane Chamberlain develops a lot of questions in the novel like always and then the author starts providing the answers one by one to the audience in the voice of Susan Bennett on this occasion who is the narrator of the book. Necessary Lies was about lies only but here the lies are connected to some family tragedies. At one spot Riley thinks that it was a good thing that her father kept everything hidden from her. The Lies We Told had this pattern in the past so the book brings some old vibes to the mind at some chapters.
