The Normans and Saxon had their differences from the beginning and those differences resulted in big wars. Different wars ended in different ways and then the Norman nobles finally got the upper hand and they made the Saxons bow in front of them. This was not something that was acceptable to the Saxon but they had no other choice at all.
Nicholas was one of the captives from Saxon tribe and the king forced her to choose a husband from the Norman nobles. The woman didn’t want that thing to happen but she accepted Royce out of the rest in order to move away from the line of fire. She agreed to the marriage just because of the fact that she needed time to think about her life and also to plan for the Saxon.
At the start Nicholaa looks more like the evil planners in Murder List from a distance and then she starts appreciating her husband. She finds in Royce a perfect soldier and a perfect husband. Initially, she wanted to bend him in front of her but his behavior makes her change her mind. Royce also realizes that his heart has started developing feelings for the woman he hardly knew a few days ago. Together the two form a perfect example that how Norman and Saxon can live together in peace and harmony.
This time when the war starts again, the main thing which the two worries about are their emerging love and the rest of the things come later. From The Secret to this novel, the author Julie Garwood has emerged as a very good author. Anne Flosnik has left no stone unturned in the narration, this makes the book appear to be a well arranged one by all means.
