The Nix Audiobook
Nathan Hill has added Norwegian culture to the story and the title is also borrowed from the same culture. In Norway people believe on the Nix, is the spirit that takes someone or something you hold dear and with that thing, a part of your heart is also lost forever. The thing which the Nix takes is gone forever and the thing left is nothing else except pain and grief. The narrator Ari Fliakos starts narrating the character of Samuel Anderson who happens to be a professor in college.
For Samuel, the Nix was his mother who left him when he was a little boy and the woman has not returned after that. Though life had been hard for Samuel he still loves his mother and wants to meet her so that he can live with her and get the love that he lost as a child. Luckily for Samuel, Nix returns his mother but the woman comes back with a lot of mess in her life.
The woman is actually wanted for the crimes she has committed and when she comes to her son, the news is all over the internet and on television. Samuel thinks that the news is not correct because her mother was not that kind of a lady.
However, the police and the media have other evidence against the woman. The story goes back to the origin of Geister as Samuel decides to go to Norway for clues. There he starts investigating the past of his mother and he gets a few things linked to his life too which messes up everything furthermore. This is a story about culture, love and a lot more so it should listen in leisure time.
