Don’t forget that Catherine Coulter and J.T. Ellison are the same authors who have written The Final Cut and Reckoning. The two have earned a lot of fame from these books and creating this one was in the mind of these two legends for a very long time. The two wanted to create something different i.e something which was not expected by the old fans.
When an author becomes famous then experimenting with the stuff always becomes difficult because people are hoping to find the best in you. There is a chance that the old fans might not like the change at all but this is not the thing here. In Renee Raudman and MacLeod Andrews’ voices, the audience meets two new agents who have just finished their training and right away they get a big case.
Nicholas and Caine were not hoping for a murder case right away but they find themselves lucky because they have been selected by the FBI for that case. John Pearce has been killed and apparently, the historian had no connections with any dangerous person. Pearce used to sell rare history books as that was his profession.
Nicholas finds out that the profession was just a smokescreen because Pearce was actually looking for a big treasure that got lost during the World War. When the two children of Pearce also go missing all of a sudden Caine and Nicholas think that they have a really complex case at hand. Someone is looking for the treasure and if that villain succeeds then the situation will get terrible. The two agents have to save the life of more than one person and they have very little time for all of this.
