Amor Towles finally presents to the audience, the third novel which people have been waiting for a long time. Rules of Civility and A Gentleman in Moscow gained a lot of fame and gathered a lot of appreciation for the author. Now comes this one in which Emmett gets stuck in manslaughter which he never wanted.
Now he is coming back home after a span of one year. The boy has plans for his future life because this time he wants to design his future life according to his will. His mother is not with them anymore and his father is also seriously ill which means that he too is going to die within a few days.
Emmett is thinking of his brother only because Billy is the last relative left in his home. He wants to take Billy to New York where the two of them can start a new life together. When Emmett reaches the place with his warden, he notices that two of his friends have also traveled with them in the car and they were actually hiding in the trunks.
These two friends tell Emmett about a new plan which they had in their mind for a very long time. This was the time to implement that plan so Emmett once again leaves his plan of constructing a new life with his brother and joins the team of his friends. Together the three move to New York and they are in a mood of testing their fate in a big way. Marin Ireland, Dion Graham, and Edoardo Ballerini have narrated the three characters separately and this has allowed them to work as a team as well.
