Loki the one god who can trick anyone is said to have many hidden powers in the form of different artifacts. Some of those artifacts and the tales attached to them were of course false because Loki made them up for a false impression. But among the real things, there was one artifact known as Loki’s key.
The key is said to have the power to open any door in both worlds i.e the world of the living and the world of the dead. Prince Jalan almost died during the mission in which he retrieved the key but he never intended to put his life in such a huge danger for the sake of the key. Now when the key is in his hands, the prince just wants to return to his relaxed life and nothing else.
The key can take him to the place where he would be able to get wine and women at the same time. Mark Lawrence creates the second hero in an exactly opposite manner, the Viking Snorri ver Snagason also wants the key but it is not leisure that the warrior seeks.
Snorri lost his family many years ago in a mishap and now through this key, he wants to bring his family back. First, he has to find the death’s door after which he would open it with Loki’s key and would be able to bring his family out of it. The themes of Prince of Thorns and Red Sister are not found in this book but the description is in the same old way. The fans like this way of the author and the narration by Tim Gerard Reynolds.
