David Baldacci’s many books are narrated by Ron McLarty and Orlagh Cassidy. The two narrators know all about the legendary creations of the author for example Long Shadows and The Camel Club so they have been able to get the job done in an accurate way. In this awesome fantasy, the author makes the audience meet the famous hitman named Robie who has been serving the US government for the past many years. Whenever the police and other agencies fail to get the job done, they call Robie for the job.
There is one good thing about Robie i.e he does not ask questions about anything and completes the job at all costs. In this story, something happens in a different way i.e Robie misses a target at first and when he is asked to kill someone in Washington, he just moves away.
Something about the target does not appear to be right to him so he does not obey orders and becomes a wanted man himself. While on the run, he was trying to find a perfect place to hide instead of which he found a young girl whose parents have been murdered. The girl needed help and Robie realizes that something bigger is at stake so he must help the girl.
He knows that if he helps the girl then his true identity would be brought to light and he might not be able to hide for a long time from those who are looking for him. Still, Robie listens to his heart on this occasion instead of the high officials for whom he had been working all his life.
