The story of this book started with the character of a boy named Theo Decker. He was from New York and was 13 years old. He survived an accident miraculously which unfortunately killed his mother. After that incident, he was abandoned by his father and was taken in by the family of a rich friend. He felt quite dazed with his big new home which was on Park Avenue. He was not having a good time with his new schoolmates who had no idea how to talk with him. On top of all this, he was tormented by his longing for his mother. Therefore, he just hung on to one of the loveliest things that reminded him of his mother. It was a small, attractive painting that soon pulled him into the amazing world of art.
