The Glass Castle Audiobook
Jeannette Walls is not someone who opened her heart in front of the audience at once. At first, she made her place in society and when she thought that she had cemented her place well in society then she finally portrayed her past life in front of the fans. Half Broke Horses and The Silver Star boasted her career after which she came up with this memoir. Here she tells how she used to live an ideal life with her parents.
Her parents i.e Rex and Rose were not like ordinary people rather they were of a special kind. They used to live like nomads initially because their parents liked it that way. Rex was a good storyteller and he had a lot of knowledge about science as well so he had the ability to capture the attention of his children all the time. Rose was a painter but she didn’t try to become a professional painter because she used to get bored in that way.
The start was good but soon the family was short of budget and the love among the family members start to disappear very quickly. The father became a drug addict because he was not able to provide everything for the family and he was ashamed of that thing. He even started stealing from his own house which shows that he was not the same man anymore.
The mother also lost interest in the children so these four siblings had to take care of themselves. Jeannette left her house at a very early age because of these issues but the good thing is that she tells us about the love which her parents had for her.
