The Forever War

The forever war marks the beginning of a new exciting series with the same title as, The Forever War. It is a science fiction and fantasy series. The author of this series is Joe Haldeman. He is an American writer of science fiction novels and the subject novel is the best that he has written so far. The novel was first published in 1974. His other novels Forever Peace and Hemingway Hoax won awards in science fiction category. The awards include the Hugo and Nebula awards.

George Wilson is outstanding with his vocal performance of The Forever War novel. He was instrumental in conveying the clear cut message of the imaginative technology. He was also able to capture the human drama in this novel with precision.

The story starts with William Mandela, who is part of the elite brigade of the planet earth. The war against Taurans was tough and that sent him from one galaxy to the other. He learned everything about the sophisticated weapons and the usage of protective shells. He was quick in adapting to the terrains and culture of the very far off outposts. However, with every passing of month in space, many years were passing simultaneously on the planet earth. The question is that where would he go on to call home, if and when The Forever War ends?

The Forever War novel won the prestigious Hugo ad Nebula awards for best science fiction. It shows science fiction fantasy at its very best. It was actually the Vietnam War that inspired Joe Haldeman to write this novel. He himself was a veteran of that war. This novel might just be a bit dated, but seems interesting with its prediction of the collapsar jump technology. The technology got introduced in 1990s.
