This is the third book of the series and Catherine Coulter along with J.T. Ellison has given everything to this series. This is a series that does not give time to its characters and also to the audience to relax. FBI agents Nicholas and Mike Caine are given a big mission as they are asked to stop a terrorist organization that is on the loose worldwide.
The terrorist organization has been bombing oil refineries and also power grids in different countries. No one has been able to track the organization and there is no clue that what the next targets of that deadly group are. When Nicholas and Mike start the investigation, they get a report from a civilian who claims that he has heard the talk of those terrorists and they are planning to bomb a refinery. Nicholas and Mike were collecting the clues when they heard that a refinery in New Jersey exploded.
They ran toward the place and were shocked to notice that there was another bomb planted just for them. However they were lucky that they survived the blast but when they came back, they got shocked to a much further level. The civilian who provided the clue and the FBI team that was protecting him were all killed.
The story becomes bigger than that in Reckoning because the organization is working on a global scale. Nicholas and Mike get another lead according to which the terrorists are targeting the president this time and they have already assigned an assassin for this job. MacLeod Andrews and Renee Raudman have given voice to separate characters because they have kept a quick speed in the narration of this superb thriller.
