The time for the heroes to realize their role in the battle has finally come. Different young faces are introduced by Melissa McPhail in the second book. A lot of new faces also appeared in Cephrael’s Hand and The Sixth Strand but they didn’t take that much time to join hands for the single mission.
In this second book, each character gets his single role in a mission after which he shows readiness to join the unit that is deciding to stand against the evil force. The adept race is going extinct and there are those among the common people who have decided to stand against all of this.
Prince Ean gets a chance to investigate deep into the First Lord’s nasty game. And during the process, we see that how concerned he is about the death of his brave men. Vestal has issues and some concerns related to Bjorn and when he starts the journey he realizes that he is chasing the wrong guy.
All his life Vestal has been living in lies and the truth is just like a teaser that rocks him to the core. Lastly, the game comes to the truth reader i.e Alorin who has a big role to play in the game. After a while he is astonished to notice that he is not the only true reader in the campaign, there is one named Kjieran van Stone. Thus it is all happening in the tale narrated by Nick Podehl. Not a lot of hidden mysteries decorate the story, there are some hidden aspects but they don’t go all the way to the end of the book.
