The Collectors is a thriller & suspense novel. This book by David Baldacci is the second installment in his The Camel Club novel series. The author is one of the best in writing mystery thrillers. There are so many novels to prove his worth and one of them is his Memory Man novel. The Camel Club is the title chapter of the subject series and it is an absolute must-listen novel by Baldacci.
The audio narration of The Collectors is done by LJ Ganser, Richard Mover, and Aimee Jolson. It was a poorly delivered performance overall which most of the listeners found to be highly distracting. The Speaker of the House of the USA was killed in a terrifying execution that happened at the core of Washington. In a relatively quiet corner of the capital and the back room of the Library of Congress, there was a wealthy, reclusive scholar who was found dead under mysterious circumstances. There were absolutely no clues at the scene. After that, not just the city but the entire nation started to tremble.
A charming and highly capable woman in California was planning one of the most challenging cons of all time. All this time, Oliver Stone and his idiosyncratic Camel Club stood solid by. They started connecting the dots between those disparate events. On top of that, they also realized that they must act quickly or else their country and nation would become a victim of a bloody coup.
The best part of this novel, rather than the series is its characters, which are outstandingly written. This thriller can be best described as fun and witty with an excellent storyline.
