The Collapsing Empire Audiobook
The Collapsing Empire is the first installment in The Interdependency novel series. This is a science fiction and fantasy novel which is written by John Scalzi. He is a highly rated author of science fiction novels from the USA and The Kaiju Preservation Society is one of his better books. On top of that, The Ghost Brigades is another notable book by John Scalzi. The audio narration of The Collapsing Empire is done by Wil Wheaton. It was not an impressive narration as the narrator seemed to have one mode only. His voice sounds way too squeaked at the time when he gets worked up to some level.
Our entire universe was ruled by physics and traveling faster than light was not a possibility. But things changed with the discovery of The Flow. It was believed to be an extradimensional field that could be accessed at some specific points in space-time that had the potential to transport us all into the other worlds ad around the stars. Humanity was meant to flow far away from Earth and then into space. Moreover, in time forgets everything about our home world and then created a new empire which was the Interdependency and the one where ethos required that no one outpost of humankind could survive without the support of the others. It was more of a hedge against the interstellar war and also a system of control for the different rulers of the entire empire. [The Collapsing Empire Audiobook]
The story is good but the character development looked to be quite shallow. On top of that, the narration was also not up to the mark. You may still try this one and can have a reasonably good time.
