Years ago Wilde was found by the locals while he was roaming in the woods near the town. People asked him about his family and friends but the boy had no information about his past life. Though he kept on trying for many years his mind was like a blank slate that had no record of the past.
Now after thirty years, Wilde is told that a girl named Naomi has gone missing in the same corner of the world. Hester who happens to be a television criminal attorney, asks Wilde to help her in the case. Hester was told by her grandson that the girl who has disappeared was quite tired of the bullying at school.
There is a chance that she might have run away because of the constant bullying. But if she has entered the woods then she is in grave danger as long as she is not found. Wilde accepts the case and he thinks that he can solve the case if he is able to control the fears of his past life. He has to go to the same place where he was found as a child and the people there are not friendly like always.
Fool Me Once is the most electric book ever produced by Harlan Coben and the author has shown some skill in Hold Tight. Still, we cannot say that the story under discussion is far behind in quality and the quantity of the material. The book has the same amount of dramatic twists in it and the reality is brought to light almost at the end of the story.
