Armies of the White King are still bringing havoc to the land and one by one the kingdoms are falling in front of the cruel king. No one can contest the rule of the king now. In the form of Gavin Guile, there was hope for the people but that too is now lost. Gavin who was once the emperor of the land is now trapped in the deepest dungeon that was once designed by him. He designed that dungeon to keep the magical creatures trapped inside it and now he is in there.
Even if he had some magical powers he might not be able to free himself out of there. But he is not the only one who is trapped in such a terrible place; other beings are imprisoned there. Kip is on the same mission i.e saving the land from the deadly White King but none of these characters seem to be winning the game because the enemies are on the threshold now.
Teia is another one that gets a late introduction in the novel by Brent Weeks but after the introduction, the character gets into big things. Teia’s powers are increasing and now putting them in the right use is everything. The fate of the land now is in the hands of these characters and none of them is winning at this point.
Simon Vance as a narrator has never stopped experimenting with his voice. Currently, there is not much variation created in the narration but one can feel the change. The Black Prism and The Broken Eye have the same level of energy in them so if the audience wants more of the stuff which is associated with war then they are welcome to listen to these two.
