Nobody can claim in the world that he likes racism but the system existed in the world for centuries and the upper class was enjoying it. The people in America are against slavery and racism but it existed in the country for centuries and according to the author Nikole Hannah Jones it should have been stopped in 1619. It was the era when the first ship came from Africa with thirty slaves.
From there slavery started and then more and more black people were brought to the land just for the sake of work. They were treated as animals and the situation that the black people faced was terrible. Racism was not the only thing that these black people from Africa faced. There were other things that made their life as hell for centuries.
Almost ten generations of black people faced this torture and then they finally got freedom. The author is of the view that hatred is still there in certain parts of the country in certain things. So we cannot say that slavery and racism are finally gone forever. There is a need to understand that all people care equally and a nation can thrive only when it understands this thing completely.
Living Apart and Ghosts of Greenwood are pinching in the same way because in these books the author talks about the troubles which innocent people have faced. They have gone through things and situations in which they never deserved to be. Nobody at that time thought about things like injustice rather they were pounding the slaves with the pestle of authority.
