The 100-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared Audiobook
Steven Corey narrates in a joyous mood all the time and here it was needed more than ever. The story does not tell us about a man who is in pursuit of happiness rather it is about a man who has lived his life according to his own will. Still, he wants something more from his life and he does not want to die the way average people die when they grow old.
Allan Karlsson is in the nursing home after years of active life that he has spent according to his taste and desires. He is healthy and fit so he wanted to enjoy himself more and the nursing home seems to be like a prison to him. He is closing in on his 100th birthday and the celebrations are in stock but Allan is not happy at all.
He does not want to celebrate his 10th birthday in a locked-up place where he is not allowed to drink alcohol according to his wish. So instead of trying to convince other people, Allan decides to run away from the place for a while so that he can see life according to his taste once again i.e like a free bird. The Accidental Further Adventures of the Hundred-Year-Old Man is also a sequel to this book so these two books are about the same thing i.e adventure in old age.
When the old man leaves the nursing home, he finds a bag full of money and after that, the fun just never ends. Jonas Jonasson has provided hope to the old citizens through this book. The author wanted to tell them that they too can enjoy life if they want to. The Girl Who Saved the King of Sweden is also by the same author but it is a completely different book. The only thing these two books share is passion and enthusiasm.
