As a youngster, Jennifer had nothing to enjoy in her life and after much pondering, she came to the conclusion that she was in need of money. Money was the only thing that could save her from all kinds of troubles so she started looking for a way to enter into the world of glamour and wealth. She was not the type who was looking for hard work or a position in society rather she wanted money to relish the pleasures of life.
After much searching, she finally found a rich boyfriend who was ready to shower his wealth on her. When something serious takes place in Las Vegas, Jennifer decides to run away from the place, and later she changes her identity too. She knew that the men from her past life will come looking for her and she must change her identity and appearance if she wants to keep herself safe. She started the job as a waitress in her new life and here she found Professor Louise who proved to be of a lot of help to her.
The girl not only found shelter in this society but she also found strange happiness in her life. Alex i.e her next-door neighbor happens to be a cop, she initially thought that he was keeping an eye on her but that was not the case rather he was interested in her and she wanted that attention for sure.
Therese Plummer’s control over the narration was shown in The Wanderer and Hidden Summit before so here it was obvious that the narrator would have full control over the entire story.
