Many of the fans would have listened to other books by Aaron Oster already. The books such as We Hunt Monsters and Darkness could give you a feeling that there is a lot of stuff that is happening around you and you are not aware of it. If we don’t believe in a thing or we are unable to see a particular thing then it does not mean that the thing does not exist in the world.
Thus the author watches the same world from a different angle altogether. Author brings the audience to a strange world in which a boy named Morgan is struggling for his love. The boy is a resident of City Four which means that he should have some kind of special powers in him but he has not developed any kind of powers even at the age of sixteen.
There is a girl whom he loves but she too seems to be out of his reach because she happens to be the only daughter of the city’s lord. So whenever he goes near her house, the guards of the lord beat him in a bad way. The lord actually wanted to kill him but the laws of the land have been saving the boy till this very day.
Though the boy has been lucky he is worried as well because if he does not develop any kind of powers very soon then he would be nothing in this world where only the powerful can rule. Morgan is battling for his survival and also for his love, the good thing is that the boy has a fighting spirit in him.
