Those who know the author Tamora Pierce should listen to this novel in which the author has redefined himself. The writing style looks quite new which means that the old patterns are not being followed. The author has come up with new things and attracting more audience to the book was not the only intention of the author, the author also wanted to improve the writing style which was already perfect according to many.

Bruce Coville could never have narrated the book single-handed because of the number of characters in the story so he has taken help from his entire team.
It is a nice amalgam of voices which has made the story more appealing and a delight to listen to. Briar and Rosethorn have come to Chammur this time which is an ancient place full of magic and villains who can hunt you down on the streets. Briar at first tries to train a stone mage in the art of magic and later he thinks that the thing is worthy enough for him.
The young stone mage was not a good learner perhaps. Several fights on the street take place because the gangs are moving here and there and they have a habit of looting those who are new in the town. Briar is new but he is not new to the world of magic which means he is not a sitting duck for anyone, he knows how to attack or fight back when the need arises.
