Dannika Dark works on the story first and then the author comes to the presentation. Though both the things are always well balanced the author’s main preference is the story. A strong story does not need the crutches of decoration or other stuff like this. The Snowball effect at the climax adds another flavor to the story which makes it perfect for all ages.

The story introduces us to the ordinary Zoe Merrick at the start and then she transforms. Zoe never had anything strange in her as she was living an ordinary life among the fellow humans. One night someone just came to her house and attacked her in such a devastating way that her survival looked impossible. Out of the blue an angel-like man came to her help and saved her life. Her whole body needed a transformation after that which was given to it.

Energy in Zoe’s body was a new thing for her, she never experienced such a power in her body before. Justus De Gradi tells Zoe that she is a Mage. It means that she is made of light and that light now is slowly getting out of control. Justus starts teaching Zoe the ways to control her power and promises her that he will be there for her all the time.

Problems like Ravenheart and One Second arises again when Zoe thinks that the choice to enter the Mage world is not easy. There is someone in the human world whose presence is forcing her to leave the light thing aside. Its Nicole Poole once again who has been narrating Dannika’s works for decades now. Nicole Poole knew from the beginning where the story was going to the narration was handled according to it.
