Life is surely unpredictable because things around us can change within a single moment and we realize at this stage that we don’t have control over our life. We don’t control our lives rather it is our life that is controlling us. Life provides us opportunities to cheer and then it also takes happiness away from us at certain moments. The woman attached to the world of art i.e Kirsten Raymonde was also living her dream when she was part of a big drama that was being performed on stage.
The main character Arthur Leander who was playing the role of King Lear in the drama died because of a sudden heart attack on stage. There was panic everywhere right from that moment and later Kirsten was told that a deadly virus has spread in the world and there would be no production for a long time.
Emily St. John Mandel takes the story twenty years ahead and shows that Kirsten is still attached to the field of art. She is living her life with a small group because the world of art has been squeezed after the pandemic. Unlike The Glass Hotel, this story breaks for a while because the author moves back and forth in time. Kirsten Potter does not change the style of narration at any spot so the listener has to remain vigilant to notice the change.
Kirsten gets the chance to perform once again but this time another villain comes in her way this time it is a human and she thinks that she can deal with that. Sea of Tranquility is the kind of book which will make its way directly to your bookshelf and into your mind after you finish this masterpiece.
