Lyra was coming closer to the end of her educational career after which she would be entering her professional life very soon. She happens to be a Los Angeles film student who wanted to become a film editor eventually. Her hopes were high and when she was offered a job at the hometown TV station, the people around her thought that she was really very lucky.
However, Lyra was not very happy at all because she didn’t want to go back home where overprotective brothers were waiting anxiously for her. Lyra’s mother was also with a strange personality i.e something that the young girl didn’t like at all. She didn’t have anything to hide from her past which separates her from Julie Garwood’s characters in The Secret.
During her last assignment at school, she caught on her camera a hideous crime after which strange things started happening to her. Being a film student, she was aware that it was just the beginning and that real tragedy was about to come her way. Her friend, Sidney Buchanan gives her the option of Sam Kincaid who was a very clever FBI agent. As Sam starts looking into her case, he gets closer to her within no time.
The two don’t show their love for each other for a long time but it becomes pretty clear from the gestures and the care which they start showing for each other. If someone finds this book resembling Ransom then it is because of Susan Denaker who has this quality of making any kind of book look great on the first attempt.
