Shards of Earth

Whenever humanity reaches the brink of extinction, a hero is born to save the day. The heroes of war are now gone and so is the war. Everything is forgotten now but the problem is that this time the people of the earth have not won the war and the earth has been destroyed completely. Adrian Tchaikovsky introduces Idris who was remade during the war as a weapon and at the end of the war, he was sent to a far off place in a vessel so that any other race might not be able to reach him.
The man has not slept and quite amazingly he has not grown old as well since the day he was made by the scientists. He is like a robot but on the inside, humanity still lives. Sophie Aldred has narrated this gloomy situation in space in an extensive way. Idris and his crew were wandering aimlessly when they get the hint that the enemy is returning once again.
The signs are clear but they cannot comprehend why the enemy is returning because there is no earth that it wants. So Idris and his crew decide to investigate the matter before something more devastating emerges in outer space. Children of Time and Day of Ascension are completely fabulous to hear if you have recently gone through this book.
This is a world that you have never heard of in the past and the characters are apparently immortal. The heroes don’t seem to be humans but they have a human soul and that is the most important thing. They have decided to fight for humanity once again even when there is nothing left to save.
