Seth Buchanan does not get impressed very easily because of his focus which is always on the work. He does not care about the woman standing near him. He thinks of a such woman as a distraction to his work and being a homicide he cannot afford a distraction.
So till this third part of the series we have seen that the homicide has been able to keep himself away from troubles and has been able to solve more cases than anyone else in the department. This time he was once again in front of a dead woman with a gun in hand but quite ironically she wasn’t dead and was in possession of blue diamonds which are known as the Stars of Mithra.
Suddenly Buchanan thought that he was being carried away in his feelings which was not a piece of good news for his profession because he has a case to solve and does not possess any time for such a show. Nora Roberts has shown such weakness in this character for the first time because in the other parts Scott Merriman described him as a strong individual.
Unlike Bed of Roses and Identity, this third part of the series is more trouble for the main character because his heart is losing control. He must finish his job before following his heart but this cannot be possible apparently. Listen to it because true mental strength is needed by the homicide detective on this occasion and the audience will finally come to know what Buchanan is actually made of. If he loses then he might not be able to hold up his head high again in the department.
