Red, White & Royal Blue is an LGBTQ+ romantic comedy novel. It is written by Casey McQuiston. She is an American author of romance and new adult fiction novels. I Kissed Shara Wheeler is a good book by the author. Moreover, One Last Stop is also a good title from Casey McQuiston. The audio narration of Red, White & Royal Blue is done by Ramon de Ocampo. This is a book not suitable to be narrated by one person, even when it was narrated in the third person. The overall narration was just average. What would happen when the First Son of America falls in love with the charming Price of Wales?
When the mother of Alex Claremont-Diaz became president then he was cast promptly as the American equivalent of a very young and fine royal. He was charismatic, handsome, and a genius. His image was more of a pure millennial-marketing gold for the White House. But there was only one problem there. Alex had beef with Henry, the actual prince all across the pond. The time when the tabloid got hold of a photo that involved an altercation between Alex-Henry, the relations between the US and Britain took a turn for the worse.
The heads of state, family, and the other handlers initiated a plan for the sake of damage control. The plan was to setup a truce between the two rivals. What started first as an Instagramable, fake friendship in no time turned deeper, and more dangerous than either Henry or Alex could have imagined. Alex soon discovered himself hurtling into a very secret romance with an unexpected Henry that could derail the campaign and also upend both nations.
Red, White & Royal Blue has a slow start and the first half felt a bit too long. The pacing was good then and it ended well. The narration was not what the listeners expected it to be.
