War is going on in the world and the rule of the emperor has been challenged at every level. There are enemies who seem to be coming from all sides and there is no stopping. Even the brother of the emperor is involved in these things and no one is going anywhere this time.
The battle will lead to an end and everyone is hoping that the end is positive, otherwise, there is a threat that the war will eat up everything that is left in the land. Guy Haley tailored the first part of the series very well and it was expected that the second part will be equally well written. The author has worked according to the expectations of the fans and this book surely is not a disappointment for those who waited for it for a long time.
Astorath Angel of Mercy and Pharos are also examples of other masterpieces which the author has presented over the years. Roboute Guilliman is trying to rebuild everything in this story and it is not an easy task that he has given himself because the circumstances are not in his favor at all.
Constructing a broken realm is not easy when there is a new enemy on your doorstep, ready to pounce on you when you come out in the open. John Banks has narrated the character of Roboute and his brother, in the same way, to show that the two have equal strength in the story. There is a duel that will finally decide who is the real hero in the battlefield. The end of the novel is quite important because it paves the way for the next part.
