People We Meet on Vacation

Two people present in the story are the exact opposite of each other and they are sure that they would never be able to live a life together. It was just a chance that allowed them to spend some time together when they were quite young. They spent the entire summer vacation together after which they continued to meet each other during the summer vacation for ten years. Neither of them used to establish any kind of contact with the other during the rest of the year.

Poppy was always full of vibrant energy and she was the kind of woman who could not be tamed. On the other hand, Alex was more of the conventional type and he preferred to remain silent most of the time. During one summer vacation that the two spent together, something strange happened between the two which they didn’t want to discuss later on.

Both of them thought that they would not be meeting each other after that day so perhaps it was their last summer together. Poppy wasn’t able to tell Alex about the developing feelings that she had in her heart so she tries to convince Alex to spend one more summer with her.

Alex finally agrees and the author Emily Henry starts the real love story from this portion. Don’t forget that Beach Read and Happy Place are also written by the same author so all of these are love stories of the first rank which are mostly narrated by Julia Whelan like this one. The role of a narrator is crucial in books like this one because the story goes up and down in emotions most of the time.
