Virgin River is described as a place by the author that provides support to everyone living in it and it welcomes strangers with open arms too. Rick is not new to the place rather in his case it is the return of the native. He has been at war serving his country on the soil of Iraq for a long time. Now he is back because of some reason and he is not the same boy anymore who used to live a carefree life in the past.
He has grown up into a man who is more serious and he is not interested in any jolly changes in his life. The future for such a soldier is grim because he is shattered from the inside. However, there is a woman in the society who thinks that Rick still has a chance and she can help him in that case. So she looks determined in establishing contact with him which can turn into a relationship later on.
In the same place, there is a man named Dan Brady who is an outsider basically and is looking for a place to settle down in life. These two men want a new start in Virgin River and the place is the right choice without any doubt. Robyn Carr needs has added a few demons of the past too which haunt the main characters and they can start a new life only when they are able to get rid of those demons.
Don’t think that there would be any issue with the narration because it has been handled well by Therese Plummer. Sunrise Point and The Chance were classics of the past and this is the present that the author has come up with. The stories don’t talk about war or villains rather these stories provide a purpose to live life to the maximum level.
