Davina Porter’s narration always makes the heart of the listeners pound a little faster because of the intensity of the voice. The narrator is a specialist in narrating romantic scenes which have some thoughts about separation involved. Diana Gabaldon takes the fans on a tour back to 1945 where the war is still on and Claire who happens to be a war nurse is thinking that somehow the war ends so that she can reunite with her husband.
When the war ends, the couple meets after a long time and they decide to go on a honeymoon in order to forget the cruelties of war and enjoy each other’s company in a much better way. During this enjoyable moment, Claire touches a strange kind of stone and she gets shifted back to 1743. [Outlander: International Edition Audiobook]
At first, Claire thinks that she is in a dream because no such thing can happen in the real world but the Scottish warrior who comes too close to her proves that everything is real. James Fraser touches Claire’s heart and she completely forgets about her plans in the original time zone in which she once existed. Lord John and the Hellfire Club kind of stories are energetic and full of fun but the start of this series is awesome without any doubt. [Outlander: International Edition Audiobook]
This is just the beginning and till the end of this first part of the series, the listeners observe that Claire is not thinking about returning to her time zone. Seven Stones to Stand or Fall proved the importance of expectations in life which is one of the major themes in this novel too. Also, it is like dealing with history in an entirely different way.
