Dr. Wilfred had nothing to do with any of the crime scenes or criminals in the area. He was a person with a neat record and all he was worried about all the time was the health of his patients. Then he gets attacked by a killer one day and he proves to be lucky that he is able to save himself. However, in the process of saving himself, the good doctor killed the one who came to take his life.

Eve Dallas and Peabody came to the place and after the investigation, they were sure that it was an act of self-defense so there was no need of taking the case much further. When the two investigators were leaving the building, they got shocked to notice that Wilfred had been killed in his office.

When they watched the recordings, it was revealed that a woman came to the office who was supposed to be the last patient for the day. That woman killed the doctor by stabbing him in the heart and later she got away with ease. Eve Dallas went through the details many times but she found no proof, then she felt that the son of the doctor was trying to hide something big.

She decided to keep an eye on the young man and soon that young man was also found dead i.e killed by the same woman. J.D. Robb is a real player, writing wonderfully well in books of the type Indulgence in Death and Encore in Death. These types of fantasies are the strength of the author and narrator Susan Ericksen is also electric in the narration of thrillers.
