Nora Roberts has proved one thing here i.e even criminals can have love stories of their own. If someone is stealing then it does not mean that it is necessary that he is a bad person. Usually, people steal for greed but it was not the case with Harry Booth who started stealing at an early age for the sake of his ailing mother.
His mother had cancer because of this the young lad used to sneak into different homes at night in order to steal items that could bring money later on. For many years things went on like this and then Harry’s mother died which broke his heart and he left the city in which he was born. In a new place, he adopted a new identity but he never left the nightwork in this new place too as it was like a habit for him now.
The Awakening and Year One were with decent characters and here we are dealing with rogues. However, these rogues have a love for each other just like the usual lovers that we see in love stories. Miranda brings a change in Harry and he starts to like her presence in his life but he knows that he can bring danger to her as well. So Harry leaves Miranda without any kind of info.
Miranda does not sit still rather, she starts looking for Harry because she knows the reason completely. Will Damron has depicted both characters through narration which is perfect like before. The story develops a fight between good and evil at the climax and the good side is also not that decent here.
