Next Year in Havana Audiobook
The audience gets the opportunity to visit Havana twice in this story and each time we get the same picture of this place. Though decades pass the place remains the same geographically and politically. First, it is Elisa who was nineteen years of age when the revolution started in the country. The girl belonged to a family which was well-settled so they had no effect on the developing unrest around them.
Still, Elisa got the chance to see the development around her house in a society that used to attract her attention right from her childhood. It was during these days that Elisa fell in love with a boy with a revolutionary mind. Later Elisa and her family were forced to leave the country because of the political situation. The family settled in Miami and in 2017 Elisa died before her death, she made a wish in front of her granddaughter that she would scatter her ashes in her homeland.
Marisol used to listen to the stories of her grandmother’s past with great interest when the old lady was alive so she wanted to visit the land that she was told so much about. Chanel Cleeton once again takes the audience to Havana and Marisol also finds love in this part of the world.
This time the girl is with an advantage i.e she has the advice of her grandmother with her. Our Last Days in Barcelona and The Most Beautiful Girl in Cuba depict the same culture and situation. So this tells us about the taste of the author for this part of the world. Kyla Garcia and Frankie Maria Corzo have provided their best in narration so this book is complete entertainment.
