Fable was really upset in the first part of the story Fable when her mother died and then she was abandoned by her father on an island full of naughty people. She was unable to believe that her own father did such a thing to her. One thing which she knew was that the people present around her weren’t trustworthy at all.
Also, her mother wanted to tell her something important but she didn’t get the time to do so. Fable didn’t lose heart rather she made some allies and started towards the sea so that she can find the ship of her father. Now she has her father’s ship under her control and her father is not there to dictate terms anymore.

For the first time in her life, Fable thinks that she has found a home and a few people whom she can trust but everything which she has started caring about is in danger. The secrets of her family that her mother wanted to tell her are coming to the surface and it is not good news at all.

The people around her are in grave danger and only she can save them because she knows the cause behind the upcoming destruction. Adrienne Young has talked about the strength in female characters during The Girl the Sea Gave Back so the author has faith in the female characters. This time it is in the young hands of Fable to save the day and this might cost her the love of her life. Emma Lysy stops at nowhere during the narration that’s why the book will not appear to be very long.
