Meredith used to be free from all kinds of worries in the past. She was the heir to the throne since her birth but she didn’t care about anything because her aunt was taking care of the business in her realm. As for a part-time job Meredith was acting as a private detective in the human world. Now she is forced to return to the fairie land because her cousin is trying to take over the throne. Her aunt has provided her with handsome men so that somehow she can give birth to a baby who can be the heir to the throne after her.
It has been months of great sexual pleasure but she has not given birth to a baby. None of men was the right mate for her because they failed to arouse the lost magic in her. Mistral is one of the queen guards and he slowly starts coming close to Meredith. Soon the two get themselves engaged in a bond which was prohibited. The queen of course would not allow such a thing so now Mistral’s life was in danger.
However, their relation brought back the lost magic to the princess. Laurell K. Hamilton from here infuses pure magic in the tale. Laural Merlington narrates how enthusiastic the two become for each other after the bond. Just a scent of A Terrible Fall of Angels and Guilty Pleasures can be felt but the magic which is brought to the fairie world was new. Also the way the two lovers meet in the hiding was fascinating for lovers of fairy tales. Character of Meredith’s cousin is also not sidelined anywhere because he is serving as the main villain.
